List of 10 Nigerian Actors That Died in 2016

We live, and then we die. The most unfortunate thing that can happen to anybody in his or her lifetime is if he/she never lived at all. The 10 Nigerian actors that died in 2016 lived their lives to the fullest of their abilities...they gave their all to this world, so this blog post is all about celebrating them.

Below is a list of 10 Nigerian actors that died in 2016.

1.  Henrietta Kosoko
She was the wife of the legendary Nigerian actor, Jide Kosoko. She passed away earlier this year (in June) at the age of 53 due to Diabetic complications.

2.  Festus Aguebor
 This veteran Nollywood actor passed away in February; the 23rd of February to be precise. There has been no information of his cause of death, but he was in his 70s at the time he passed away, so we can conclude that he went to rest in the great beyond, after leaving his footprints on the sands of time.

3.  Bukkie Ajayi
She was one of the oldest actors in Nollywood before she passed on a couple of months ago. She started out with NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) in the 70s as a newscaster. She later got into acting in the same decade, playing in the popular 70s Nigerian TV series, The Village Headmaster. She was 82 years old at the time of her death.

4.  Martins Njubuigbo (A.K.A Elder Maya)
This veteran Nollywood actor died after a long battle with liver disease. He passed away on October 1, 2016.

5.  Isiaka Adewale Najeem
Popular in the Yoruba speaking genre of Nigerian movies; Isiaka Adewale died a few months ago in a church. He had gone from one hospital to another without cure for his ailment, before heading to a church where he believed he would find a solution to his problem. 

6.  Mulikat Adebgola
Another very well know person in the Yoruba movie world, Mulikat Adebgola died a few weeks ago after a brief illness.

7.  Abdul-Lateef Titilope Ashimiyu
Abdul Lateef died in June after a brief illness. He was well know for staring in movies alongside popular actor, Odunlade Adekola.

8. Olamide David
This is a sad one; he was only 14 years old. He died at the beginning of the year at a hospital in Ikeja (Lagos), where he was being treated for a fatal abdominal injury he sustained while playing soccer. 

9.  Mike Odiachi
Mike Odiachi passed away in Delta state in February of this year. He was a graduate of the prestigious Nigerian university, University of Ibadan (U.I), and he greatly promoted theater arts festival of Nigerian universities.

10. Sikiru Adeshina (A.K.A Arakangudu)
He was a film actor, director, and movie producer. He was well known for playing roles as either an occultist or herbalists in most movies he starred in. Cause of death- cardiac arrest.
