Countries With the Lowest Age of Consent in the World

What is the meaning of age of consent? It is the legally defined age at which a person is deemed legally competent to consent to sexual activity. Do you know what statutory rape means? It means, if you as an adult have sexual relations with someone who is not up to the age of consent of the country you are in, you can be charged to court for statutory rape. Yep! Even if the girl looks like an adult, and willingly had sex with you, you would have committed a crime. So, today, I decided to look into the list of countries with the lowest age of consent around the world.

Most nations have age of consent between 16 and 18 years of age, but there are some that go really low as 14. Those are the ones I would be listing today. Checkout the list below.

Britain- 16

Norway- 16

Switzerland- 16

France- 15

Denmark- 15

Greece- 15

Croatia- 15

Hungary- 14

Estonia- 14

Italy- 14

Portugal- 14

Germany- 14

Colombia- 14

Brazil- 14

China- 14

Japan- 13

Niger- 13

Burkina Faso- 13

Yippee! I just realized this is my 100th post on this blog. I think I will drink a bottle to that tonight. It ain't easy to have a blog reach 100 post of 90% originally written content.

  1. Some Americans and Westerners are very prudish and sensitive about these kinds of issues. Sir, what do you think is the best age of consent for the world today?
