Who doesn't want to know who the richest people in the world are? So today, I have brought you this list, of the top 10 richest men in the world, according to Forbes. This list is as current as March 2016. View the list below and be motivated.

10. David Koch
David Koch is a 75 year old American business man, and executive vice president of Koch Industries. He has a net worth of $39.6 billion. His wealth is diversified. Koch Industries has interest in oil pipelines, refineries, building materials, paper towels, etc. He is a cheerful giver, and his David Koch Charitable Foundation has made more than $1.2 billion in contribution over his lifetime.

9.  Charles Koch
He is the elder brother of David Koch, and they share controlling shares in Koch Industries. Actually they have the same net worth, and are both recorded as 9th richest in the world, but not to cause confusion, I put David as the 10th richest man in the world.

Charles Koch's net worth is the same with his younger brother (David), and stands at $39.6 billion. The 80 year old American business man is the 9th richest man in the world.

8.  Michael Bloomberg
This 74 year old American billionaire is the C.E.O of Bloomberg LP. He is the 8th richest man in the world, and his wealth comes majorly from his company, Bloomberg LP, which is a privately held financial software, data, media company. His net worth as of March 2016 is $40 billion.

7.  Larry Ellison
With a net worth of $43.6 billion, this 71 year old American Internet entrepreneur is the 7th richest man in the whole world. The university dropout serves as the executive chairman and chief technology officer of Oracle Corporation. He founded Oracle in the early 80s with two partners, and the company has grown exponentially since then, to put him in the ranks of the top 10 richest men in the world.

6.  Mark Zuckerberg
The youngest on the list, and an inspiration to people like me. American Internet entrepreneur, Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook in his dorm room about 13 years ago, and the social media company has grown to become a publicly traded company on the floors of the U.S stock market. The 31 year old is worth $44.6 and is the 6th richest man in the world. He just got into the top 10 this year. Congrats to him.

5.  Jeff Bezos
I love this guy cos I do business with him. He even still paid me some money a few days ago. Yea, I am not kidding. Okay, let me break it down to you. Jeff Bezos owns Amazon (the largest internet-based retailer in the U.S), and they have this program called Kindle Direct Publishing, which partners with authors, and helps sell their books through Amazon's huge customer base. So, yes, Amazon pays me royalties for my book sales every month end.

Okay, enough of the bragging. Back to why this man is the 5th richest man in the world. Jeff Bezos is an American technology entrepreneur and investor. As you already know, he is the founder of Amazon.com, an online merchant of books, and later of wide variety of products and services. The 52 year old is worth $45.2, and is the 5th richest man in the world.

4.  Carlos Slim Helu
One of the two non Americans on this list. This 76 year old Mexican is a business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He was actually the world's second richest man last year, and people believed he would overtake Bill Gates for the number one spot this year. He is into telecoms, and the honorary chairman of Mexico's biggest mobile phone operator company, America Movil. His shares in this company, and other companies (like New York Times) give him a net worth of $50 billion, and make him the 4th richest man in the world.

3.  Warren Buffett
Yet another American on the list. Warren Buffet has been in the top 3 for many years. He is the oldest man (85 years old) on the list, and his net worth of $60.8 billion makes him the third richest man in the world. Warren Edward Buffett is an American business magnate, investor and philanthropist. He is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, an American conglomerate holding company. Some of the companies owned by this conglomerate include, Fruit of the Loom, Dairy Queen, Helzberg Diamonds, GEICO, and NetJets. It also has undisclosed percentage in Mars, Incorporated. And also has minority holding in companies like, The Coca-Cola Company, American Express, Wells Fargo, IBM, etc. You see why this man's money is long? He is one of the best investors in the world. He always knows where to put his money to make the most it.

2.  Amancio Ortega
This is yet another non American on the list. He is the founder of Zara. If you are into fashion, you definitely will know Zara. Amancio Ortega is a Spanish fashion business man, and founding member of the Inditex Fashion Group, best known for it chain of Zara clothing and accessories retain shops. Now, this is the only person on the whole list that leaves me in awe. I mean, building a fashion company from ground up, and then becoming the second richest man in the whole world through that is amazing. He is 79 years old, and has a net worth of $67 billion.

1.  Bill Gates
He needs no introduction. If you ask anybody on the streets, in any country in the world who the richest man in the world is, he/she would say; "Bill Gates." He is an American business magnate, investor, philanthropist, and computer programmer. William Henry "Bill" Gates is the richest man in the whole world with a net worth of $75 billion. Although he co-founded Microsoft, he currently owns just under 3% of the company, which accounts for just 20% of his wealth. He has stakes in Canadian National Railway; Ecolab (a hygiene and water technology firm); waste collection outfit- Republic Services, etc. These give him 80% of his wealth. I bet you never knew that. Most people believe it is only through Microsoft he gets his wealth.

That's all folks. Now go out and make that money maybe you can get on this list in the future. But, did you notice most of the people on the list are 70 above? Apart from Zuckerberg who is 31, and Bill Gates who is 60, the rest are in their 70s and 80s. Oh yea, I forgot Jeff Bezos who is 52. But majority of billionaires are 70 years and above. It shows two things, it takes time to amass wealth, but if you want to be exception like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, you can't just amass wealth, you have to come with something the world has never seen before. THINK!
